A paper authored by Eren DÜZGÜN, an Assistant Professor of International Relations at the University of Kyrenia, was published in European Journal of International Relations (EJIR), one of the top International Relations journals in the world.
The article, titled ‘The International Relations of “Bourgeois Revolutions”: Disputing the Turkish Revolution’, is a contribution to the growing field of Historical Sociology of International Relations. The paper dealt with two main questions. First, based on archival research, DÜZGÜN provided a novel interpretation of the Turkish Revolution (1923-45). Then, he used this re-interpretation to address the broader question of the historical roots and legacies of the modern international order. In this respect, DÜZGÜN’s paper seeks to shed new light on the core theoretical concerns of International Relations as a discipline, as well as to contribute to the sociology of the Turkish state-formation.
